Apia, on Upolu Island, is a land area of nearly 3,000 square kilometeres consisting of 9 islands, halfway between Hawaii and New Zealand. The main entrance to Western Samoa is through Fiji via Air Pacific, or by direct flight by Air New Zealand via Hawaii. The two main islands are Upolu and Savaii. It is mainly serviced by Air New Zealand from Los Angeles, often through Papeete, Tahiti. English is the main language and although there is rainfall, the temperature is approximately 80-88 degrees year round.
